Principal's Message

Dear WCHS Families,
Welcome to the 2025–26 school year! We are excited to kick off another year of academic growth, student engagement, and strong community at Weld Central High School.
We are pleased to introduce several new staff members joining us this year:
  • Nathan Bryant, Dean of Students
  • Shelby Massey, Agriculture Instructor
  • Tyler Peel, English Language Arts Teacher
  • Courtney Gallegos, Registrar
Please help us welcome them to our school community.
As we begin this new year, we remain committed to continued academic success and high levels of student participation in athletics, clubs, and activities.
One of the most significant changes this year is our updated cell phone policy. In an effort to improve focus and reduce distractions during class time, students will now be required to place their phones in designated classroom boxes at the beginning of each class period. Phones will be returned to students at the end of each class. Students will still have access to their phones during passing periods and at lunch.
If you need to reach your child during the school day, please call the main office. Teachers will also ensure phones are quickly accessible during emergency drills or any real emergencies.
This change is rooted in research showing the negative impact of cell phone use on student learning and attention. We believe this policy will help create a more focused, engaging learning environment for all students.
We appreciate your support as we work together to make this school year a successful one.
Sincerely,
Nicolas Ng
Principal, Weld Central High School

9th Grade Orientation

It was great to meet our class of 2029 at orientation!

Housekeeping

Student IDs

Student IDs must be shown for riding the bus and for receiving school meals.

Food Services
It is CDE policy that students must select 3 food groups (one must be a fruit or veg) per meal for it to qualify for free and reduced.

Technology

Please consider purchasing repair and replacement insurance for your Chromebooks. The deadline for purchasing the insurance is October 3rd.

Insurance
The Optional Insurance and Repair program is designed to help offset the costs for families of a lost or
damaged iPad or Chromebook. School Board policy J-63 clarifies that student use of the Internet, electronic
communications, and district technology devices is a privilege, not a right. Failure to follow the use procedures
contained in the policy shall result in the loss of the privilege to use these tools and restitution for costs
associated with damages. The costs for a damaged or replacement iPad or Chromebook can be expensive.
Optional insurance is our way of helping offset unforeseen expenses for families. This program is optional, but
can provide significant savings in the event of accidental damage or loss.

Transportation

Registration for Transportation Services for the 2025-2026 school year has closed.
If you missed the registration deadline and your child requires busing services, please complete the waitlist 2025-2026
The Transportation Services department will contact the child’s primary contact if a seat becomes available. Completion of the waitlist form ensures that your child will be considered for any openings that may arise. Requests will be honored in the order in which they are received based on the specific route requested.
