Weld Re-3J Families-

Greetings students, parents, and community members! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and break. I have a few important topics to share with you and hope you will consider our community engagement opportunities.

Attendance Matters!

As we head into the holiday season, we know this is a special time for rest, travel, and time with loved ones. We also want to remind our families how important consistent school attendance is for your child’s learning and success. Historically, our daily attendance rates drop below 90% during the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Even a few missed days can make it harder for students to stay on track academically. Our teachers plan meaningful learning experiences right up until break begins. Sustained school attendance helps children feel confident and connected. Our teachers appreciate your partnership in helping students finish the semester strong!

Master Facilities Planning Process

As part of our Strategic Plan’s Real Skills for Real Life pillar, the district is starting a community engagement process to look closely at the condition of our school buildings and think about how they may need to grow and change in the future. This work will help ensure our facilities support strong learning in reading, writing, and math, as well as hands-on career and technical opportunities for students. We want voices from all parts of our community, and the group’s work will help shape a facilities recommendation for the District Accountability Committee and Board of Education. The group will meet four times in person during January, February, and March. If you’d like to apply to join, please email feedback@re3j.com by December 19.
