We Care was started in 2006, to help two students, who while on their way back to the high school, were involved in a very serious car accident that left one student paralyzed. In true community fashion, we as a district held a fundraiser that raised over $15,000 to help with her medical costs. We found it to be such a worthy cause, that we have forged on helping many other families in our district since then! Over 150 families have been helped and over $90,000 raised since its inception.

Nominations for families in need (facing hardship) are taken throughout the year by classroom teachers, evaluated by the committee regarding the need, and then families are assisted according to their need. Every spring we hold our annual We Care event. As all proceeds from these events go directly into our fund. Our only means of keeping this going is our annual fundraiser, where in the past, we have done dinner and the Faculty Follies or breakfast and a fun run (5K) and also our individual schools/buildings to have a fundraising activity involving students and staff.
