High School Social Studies Curriculum

Weld Central High School has initiated a program materials adoption process for 9-12 Social Studies.  In October of 2023, teachers reviewed current materials and identified weaknesses related to standards alignment and student engagement. The team listened to presentations from McGraw-Hill and TCI. During the third quarter of the 2023-2024 school year, all social studies teachers piloted materials and unanimously supported the recommendation to adopt TCI curriculum in the areas of Geography, U.S. & World History, and Civics and Economics on February 28, 2024.

An important part of the materials review process is community input. Below are how community members can view these materials and provide input.

The Board of Education will review the curriculum & materials adoption proposal at their regular meeting on March 13, 2024, and consider formal adoption on April 24, 2024. Comments or inquiries may be submitted to feedback@re3j.com through Friday, April 12, 2024, at 12:00 pm.
