Discover the Joy of Working with Children through PTEACH

District teacher with childrenThe PTEACH program allows Weld Central High School students to explore careers in education and child-related fields. Combining classroomStudent group with mascot instruction with hands-on experience, the program equips students with practical skills and insights into the teaching profession.

PTEACH students gain real-world experience working with children in classrooms and other educational settings. These opportunities allow participants to apply theoretical knowledge while building meaningful relationships. Olivia Hood, a junior, noted the importance of this experience, saying, “The most enjoyable part of PTEACH courses [is] probably just getting to get close to the kids and build a relationship with all of them.”

Open to all students, PTEACH emphasizes inclusivity and personal growth. Its courses encourage participants to bring their unique strengths and perspectives, creating a supportive environment for learning and exploration.

Participants gain a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and rewards of working with children, often solidifying their career aspirations. Samantha de la Fuente shared that her PTEACH classes strengthened her passion for teaching. “PTEACH classes made me realize how much I would love being a teacher,” she said.
